Poems, May 2004:

A NEW DAY

See the way you melt in my arms
See the way you loathe isolation
See the way you memorize my figure
See the way your eyes meet mine
See the way your face gets hazy

Hear the way you scream my name
Hear the thunder in the distance
Hear our song delighting your mind
Hear my violin playing for you
Hear the breaking of memories

Feel my gaze in your direction
Feel the pace picking up speed
Feel my hand touching your heart
Feel no pain from me
Feel my teardrops in your palm

Smell the sweet aroma of our love
Smell the burning of the loneliness
Smell the sunrays shining through your soul
Smell the fresh air of a new day
A new day that belongs to us.

THE ANGEL

Slip between the doorway
Of reality and hope
Open up your heart
And let the truth come spilling out
Venture to me
Predict no gaping lies
I am the angel
Here to guide you
Keep behind me
Hugging close
The air you breathe
Brings chills upon my skin
Hold your breath
Let go when you catch up
I’ll be the one to blind your fears
And keep you from the misery
Stay with me awhile
Till we decide where fate leads us.

SAY NO MORE

Say no more
Say more to me
Believe they’re gone
Believe I’m in your arms
Tonight, they’ll speak in contrast
And right before your eyes
You’ll see the world
Through others’ minds
We’ll say what we are told
And wait for rants and raves, behold
The world in just one hand
The good of the lives untold
Release the hate in one harsh scream
Capture the love of no one else
For you are theirs

No more will you see darkened skies
Nor will you see the watchful eyes
No more will you see haste and lust
Instead you will see love and trust
